Yes, I’m starting to call the Old One as part of our most recent project. For some of you, the name it might sound familiar, for some others it won’t mean anything and maybe a few are now curious about it… so allow me to explain it.

Last month, the class of EBM 10 was assigned to this amazing challenge called Space Squid. During the next four months, nine departments of Vancouver Film School, along with a partnership with Adobe and Wikipedia, will create and develop an interactive application featuring stories from the author H.P Lovecraft.

As you can see, this is a great and unique opportunity to work with. I wasn’t wrong when I decided to move all the way from Mexico to persuade my dream at VFS; for this is the kind of project I get to be part of.

My teammate Patsy Tomkins and I, with the help of different students from VFS; which I’ll be introducing them in future posts, will be working on The Call of C’Thulhu; one of the most (if not the most) known creations of Lovecraft.

By producing this project, I’m not only getting to work on a short film or develop an application. I will also experience and learn more on the casting and filming side, how to work with more than 60 students and alumni, will increase my level of experience of running under a tight schedule and many more thing that I will be posting here.

Seeing all the people and companies involved, the kind of project we’re working on and the many fans H.P out there, it’s enough to put a little pressure on my shoulders, but I’m up for the challenge and I’m really confident that my team and I can do it with excellent results.

So, it’s time to make the set up everything and prepare to make the call…
