So, there’s been so much talk about the movie but what about the iPad application? Well, I haven’t forgotten about it. Wednesday June 23th was the end of the term and we had an presentation where the five teams demonstrated their progress so far. We are excited about the reactions we received from the audience at the Zann presentation on Wednesday. It looks like the experience that we are proposing is going to completely entertain and appeal to our target audience.
First let me say, that the concept we have had in mind for a month has had a lot of issues. These issues stem from the fact that the platform requirements for the iPad restricts the quality of our interactive application. Working on the application has been a long and stressful process, but our team has worked appropriately and has since overcome all the obstacles they have been faced with.
Our application will use the portrait and landscape positions as different user interfaces. In the portrait mode, the user will able to read the story as an eBook. In the landscape mode, the user will have to navigate through different scenarios collecting map pieces, based on the story. Both paths will lead you to watch the movie at the end.
School resumes on July 5th, but there is no vacation for us. Over the break, Janelle and I will be utilizing our down time to finish the application by July 12th, 2010. Our goal is to complete as many tasks as we can, which will ultimately give us sufficient time to work and plan ahead for the next intense phase. But stay tuned!
