I’m so excited to see our movie come to life. It has been a long path since the beginning of this project – 6 weeks to be exact! Props, costumes, cast, crew and craft services are in place. Our call time is at 12:15pm. At 1pm we will start shooting “The Music of Erich Zann”.
So here we are, at 300 Hastings, working on the set to recreate Zann’s apartment. Michael Chase welcomes the crew and we are ready to roll. Today we are going to film Eric writing and playing the violin. You have to watch the movie to understand the purpose of Erich’s actions. However, I can tell you that he knows that his life is going to end really soon.
Emanuele has been on the set with us since the beginning, as our Visual Effects supervisor. He works side by side with Michael to review each of the shots to ensure that the post-production team is getting the best footage to work on.
As the hours go by, we have had to move the props and lights several times to prepare for the different shots needed for the movie. We also painted the window frame and added green screen tape and markers for visual effects purposes. We started throwing paper in front of the fans to simulate wind in the room. This part was fun!
After a couple of hours, the shoot was completed and ran really smoothly. There were no problems on set and everybody is just waiting for lunch time. An amazing meal is waiting for our marvelous crew!
I would like to thank Paul and Lucas for performing as Erich and Alex. Without you, this movie wouldn’t have come to life. Everybody did a great job today and I’m happy to say that we wrapped 4 hours ahead of schedule! Tomorrow will be our second and final shooting day of “The Music of Erich Zann”.
